“Same Girl”
June 20, 2007
i was in the car today when angie martinez started talking about how she finally saw the same girl video from r. kelly and usher. so the twist is that it turns out it isn’t really the same girl but two different girls (twins, i guess) who just look the same. now i gotta say that this was a chump move by r. kelly or whoever decided that little joke at the end. it just shows that guys are so insecure about getting played that they can’t even make a video about it. now i’m sure that someone will disagree with me and say that r. kelly had planned it all along when he wrote the song, but the lyrics say otherwise.
the thing that really gets me is that guys cheat like crazy, but when a girl does it they act like it’s a damn tragedy. i know because i’ve been in this situation a few times and every time it’s always the same. the fairy tale of monogamy and happiness has been perpetuated by society for so long, yet it still seems okay for a guy to cheat. i guess it’s an animal thing since many animals don’t do the whole mate for life thing, but it’s usually the male going around trying to spread his seed. on the other hand, females are always looking for the superior genes of the male. this means if she sees a man she thinks can take better care of her or has better looks (or whatever a girl really values) then she is very likely to be attracted to that guy. i don’t know why this isn’t explained to people in school because maybe then all the bullshit that comes along with cheating might be eliminated.
the end of the story is that we’re all really just acting out a play from our DNA. it’s the whole evolution thing… we look for someone who will best continue our family line because we want it to continue. the people who pick the best mates will have the strongest, smartest or just plain attractive kids that will do the same thing their parents did.
gosh…science is such a bitch.
